What makes a good guitarist ... what makes a good bluesman?

Always wondered... what really makes a good bluesman? ... there are so many folks that play the guitar... some are good, some need more practice... but then, there ain't a certain pattern ... no specific guidelines... eventually everyone has his own way... And those people who don't ... well they just copy/paste... and that explains everything... and it gets even worse when it comes to the blues... well let's just say that ya gotta be yerself...
The guitar stuff and technique will eventually improve in time... I just love when people ask me: Do ya play guitar?... and I tell em: I play the blues
Now I enjoy a bit of rock every now and then... even some metal stuff just to entertain the void tween my ears... yet that kind of music can never get least close to the blues in terms of amount of soul... i'm talking bout tons here.... the blues can be like whatever, slow er fast... sloppy er complicated... well defined er just wild ... as long as there's soul in it... Jimi used tew say: "the blues is easy tew play but hard tew feel"...

... makes me think of all these great folks ... from the easy slow folks like Muddy Waters... Albert King and so on... tew insanely complicated players like SRV... The blues is like a family... pretty much the family i never had. Everyone is kinda linked one to each other... and even tho we play quite the same scales and notes for a hell lot of decades... it's the individual that makes it sound so original and nice...

And so I'm following my own guidelines... just tryin tew make up my own path and so on... yep it takes time but it sure is worth it...
